Who we are
We are a Ceilidh band, based in the Channel Island of Jersey. We have been playing together for years and play a mix of English, Scottish and Irish traditional music, with an emphasis on English Folk. We have two callers, and both are experienced with groups of all ages.

We offer a variety of services. We play for weddings, birthday parties and fundraisers, both private and public. Our events are suitable for families of all ages - even small children and grandparents will have fun. We can play in any venue - indoors or outside, depending on the time of year, and will always try to accommodate our clients' needs. We do not always play out with all our musicians, as it depends on holidays, but we offer the same service regardless of our number.

Our Story
The Caesarean Ceilidh Band was formed in 1981 following the success of barn dances organised by the local branch of CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale, performing in public for the first time in October of that year. Comprised then mainly of musicians from the two local Morris dancing sides, Helier Morris Men and The Jersey Lilies, the band first played under a variety of names including 'The Jersey Bean Crock and Windbreakers'! Becoming steadily more popular, by 1983 the band had progressed to playing on a regular basis under their current name. Musicians have come and gone over that period, lending their expertise to different line-ups and sharing their music. The musicians in the band today have been playing together for at least five years, although some have been with the band since its inception.
